We had an awesome time for the 4th of July in Fountain,in 2007. We did not have any family members that were close to us at the time living near us, so we decided to spend the fourth at the park, grilling and taking pics. OK so we took more pics than any thing else. But the main idea was to spend time with family, right? We loved every minute of it. We took the kids around Fountain Mesa Park to look at birds and ducks. They feed them and played in the field as well. It was a joyous day. We especially had fun later that night when we watched the fireworks in New York being set off. We had the missionaries over for dinner shortly before watching the fireworks. We had a fun time talking about what independence means to us and expressed our feelings of gratitude for having a nation that conforms to Independence. The fourth of July is like Christmas to my husband. He really enjoys seeing the children's faces when they light up with amazement, when they watch the fireworks. However, Austin was really bummed this year because we did not get any fireworks. In the state of Colorado we can not light fireworks due to it being so dry. Although Austin did not get to light fireworks this year, he was very grateful to have been able to watch them being set off on T.V with his family.
